“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2).
“The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor” (Proverbs 15:33).
“Before his downfall a man’s heart is proud, but humility comes before honor” (Proverbs 18:12).
“Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life” (Proverbs 22:4).

“For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6).
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).
True wisdom comes from God. Plain and simple. People can try all they want to find it elsewhere, but it cannot be found anywhere else or in anyone else. The Lord alone gives wisdom.
So where can we find this wisdom? Both of these passages are talking about the message found in the Bible. If you look to the Bible you will find the very Word of God. There you will find the answers to the deep questions of life, meaning, salvation and eternity.
But don’t expect everyone to accept the wisdom of God. Indeed the world sees the message of salvation as foolishness. It is the Spirit of God who draws a person and reveals the Lord, the King of glory, and the message of the gospel. “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:44).
